A future where individuals are making a big impact in their work, at their home, in their schools and in their communities. This is why we focus our community efforts on the next generation because when kids thrive, our future thrives.
Some kids because of their situation are at a disadvantage, and with Thrive Kids we take steps to make a difference. We realize that even the smallest deed can make a lasting impact, so we are committed to helping build a future these kids can thrive in, one step at a time.
Due to the impact of COVID-19 we have quickly organized and launched our Food for Kids initiative to help food insecure children in Oklahoma County. With Food for Kids we partner with local organizations to provide nutritious meals and snacks to food insecure children in Oklahoma County.
There is a critical link between childhood nutrition and proper cognitive and physical development. Without proper nutrition, we cannot expect children to learn or pay attention in school. Undernourished children can exhibit signs of depression, aggression, anxiety and anti-social behavior.
While programs like SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) and WIC (Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children) remain extremely effective ways to help out children and families, they aren’t enough.
